Antique Tables
Royal Cabinet
Design Patented April 16, 1901; May 7, 1901. From the 1901 Brunswick-Balke-Collender Co. catalog:

"The Royal Cabinet table is our very latest Production in high-grade billiard and pool tables for private residence or club use.

The curved shape in the sides and ends is obtained through building up the woodwork in several thicknesses of material in an alternate run of grain, making what is technically known as a compound construction. The exterior surface consists of artistically figured veneer. The handsome flare of the wood in the quarter-sawed oak or the burls in the mahogany or curly birch is brought out very conspicuously.

The table is furnished either as billiard or pool, or as both combined in what is known as a combination table. The combination is usually supplied with a Convertible Cushion Rail Attachment, which consists of two separate sets of cushion rails, one for billiard and the other for six pocket pool, which, by means of a cleverly arranged device, can be alternated in five or ten minutes time. Where it is desired to reduce the price, however, the patent Monarch Patent Stops, with iron fastening, can be used for closing the pocket openings, thus converting the table from pool to billiard or vice versa.

Stock size 4 ½ x 9’. Made in oak, Golden Oak finish, or curly birch. The latter is finished in mahogany color. Also made especially to order in mahogany. The outfit or playing equipment is strictly of the best."
