Antique Tables
Richmond
From the 1898 Brunswick-Balke-Collender Co. catalog, page 20:

The Richmond is of recent production, but is modeled on the same general lines that characterizes some of our most popular designs which have met with extraordinary favor from the time that they were originally presented to the public.

It is needless to say that the feature, which commends this table to the favor of good judges of artistic cabinetwork, is the appearance of massive solidity, plainness and perfect harmony in outline and detail.

The construction and finish is faultless in every particular. The legs are round, handsomely shaped and molded. Great strength and durability is secured in them through the method employed by us in the use of large iron bolts in conjunction with our patent corner blocks, thus producing a perfect foundation, which is absolutely essential to good service and perfect billiard playing, and which could not be otherwise obtained.

Furnished either as a carrom or pool table or both combined. All combination tables have our patent adjustable carrom plugs, with iron fastenings. Stock sizes 4x8, 4 1/2x9, and 5x10.

All tables are fitted with Vermont slate bed from our own quarries, imported Simonis cloth, and the incomparable Monarch cushions.

The legs, besides being joined with wooden dowels, are fastened with a large iron bolt passing through the entire length of the leg to the top of the head block, thus insuring positive solidity.
