Newport
From the 1908-1909 Brunswick-Balke-Collender Co., catalog, page 18:

Manufactured under 18 construction patents awarded from 1892 to 1905.

An attractive design of massive proportions. Good value for the price. Made in quarter-sawed golden oak and mahogany.

To meet the demand for a massive design of billiard or pool table at a medium price we originated the Newport. It is a modification of the Saratoga style, being similar in appearance but less expensive in construction and finish. We can recommend it as a good serviceable billiard or pool table.

The slate bed is best quality Vermont one inch thick, the sections being joined with brass dowels and sockets. No screw holes in the playing surface.

The cushions are the celebrated quick acting Monarch, guaranteed the most perfect angle cushion in the world. Used by all professional players in America and Europe.

The cushion rails are of extra heavy construction and firmly bolted to the slate bed. The cushion rail tops are veneered with rosewood, which does not change color, cannot be easily disfigured and does not have the objectionable features of a polished surface.

From the 1904 Brunswick Balke Collender Co. catalog, page 18:

A table of attractive design at a moderate price.

The Newport table is a modification of the Saratoga. As a matter of fact, it is a duplicate of that celebrated design as far as external appearance is concerned. In construction it is materially different. It is intended to meet the demand for a less expensive table.

The slate bed is of the regulation kind. The cushion rail tops are finished to correspond with the balance of the woodwork of the table.

The cushions are the latest improved quick-acting Monarch. The outfit or playing equipment is also first quality. The table is carried in stock in 4x8 and 4 1/2x9 sizes. It is finished in both golden oak and mahogany.
