A good standard quality of billiard or pocket table which is quite new in style and construction. It is covered by design patent and a purchaser may feel secure against cheap imitations. Design patent awarded August 22, 1911. Produced under various patents granted from 1892 to 1905.
Wood and Finish: Oak and mahogany. The oak is finished in fancy quarter-sawed, our No. 6 medium or golden color, with white Holly inlay having a small, black border. The mahogany is finished in our regular No. 2 stock mahogany color and in what is known as an egg shell gloss, which is obtained by means of hand-rubbing with furniture polish in process of applying the various finishing coats.
Construction: Framework of body is 1 3/4" thick x 15" wide. Hardwood backing, compound construction and double cross veneer facing. Made in sections and can be shipped K.D. Head block 3 3/4" thick and reinforcing blocks carrying heavy frame bolt, are 5" x 1 3/4" x 11". Joints secured by countersunk frame bolt and two 5/8" hardwood dowels. Head block 3 1/2" x 4" x 4". Legs 8 1/2" square x 167" high, tongued and grooved compound construction reinforced by corner lookouts, double cross veneered and secured to frame work by 24" bolt in addition to four hardwood dowels. Leg cap 2 1/3" x 9" x 9". The wood construction all of good quality. Cabinet made and put together in the most thorough manner. All joints made close and secure and all mirtres absolutely accurate. Joints tongued and grooved, strongly doweled and glued or screwed firmly together. All corners and edges made perfectly smooth and true.
Cushion Rails: Cabinet construction, 1 3/4" x 3 5/8". The hardwood core is reinforced with one thickness of veneer on each side, thereby giving it additional strength. The cap rail is veneered with rosewood.
Slate bed: Good quality Vermont, 3 or 4 slab slate to the set, not doweled, firmly screwed to a wood frame 7/8" thick. Pocket openings protected with wood framing.
Cushions: Standard Monarch, style no. 1888, guaranteed to be perfect angle and very rapid. Certified by trademark plate set in cap of cushion rail.
Pockets: No. 3 style, with nickel plated flanges countersunk in cushion rail top, provided with invisible bolts from the lower side of rail. Heavy black cover leather and red trimming leather. No. 30 green worsted pocket nets. |
