A thing of Beauty and a Joy Forever.
Is a billiard table in your home. It is a requisite in every modern, well furnished home. It beautifies the family circle, strengthens the "ties that bind", keeps the restless ones from straying and is more conducive to health and happiness than any other pastime very invented. Sir Astley Cooper, a noted English physician, says regarding this diversion: "We should all sleep more soundly if we made it a rule to play billiards an hour or two each evening before going to bed." Billiards is a skillful, vitalizing, grateful amusement, equally enjoyable to the old as to the young.
Description of the Home Circle billiard table:
As shown by the illustration, the Home Circle Billiard Table is made in artistic design.
The supporting frame work at both ends is of metal in jet black finish, lined with gold finish, making a very handsome combination. The supporting parts are lightweight in appearance, but solid and substantial. A cleverly arranged invention for keeping the bed of the table perfectly level is attached to the bottom of each of the four legs. The framework of the upper part is wood, finished in oak or mahogany.
The rubber cushions are the latest improved quick acting Monarch, which are celebrated throughout the world as being the best in use, embodying the very essential features of great speed and absolutely accuracy of angle.
The bed of the table is of the best quality slate in one piece. It is attached to a wood framework, giving it a substantial foundation so that there is absolutely no hazard of breakage.
The cloth is of a high grade imported French make, the same as that used on our standard billiard and pool tables.
The outfit or playing equipment for a billiard table consists of the following:
One set (four) ivory billiard balls.
One-half dozen fancy wood imported butt cues.
One fancy set of counters with nickel plated frame.
The table is compactly boxed for shipment and can be transported to any part of the world. We will be pleased to give full particulars as to freight rates to any part of the United States upon application.
We give special attention to mail orders in this department.
The term combination means that we furnish a special device for closing the pocket openings so that the table can be used for either billiard or pool.
The 3x6 size with complete playing equipment and four pockets. with combination option.
The 3 1/2 by 7 size in either four pockets or six pockets, with the combination option.
Description of the Home Circle pool table:
A contented woman: Is one who has a happy home, preferred by her husband and children to outside amusements. You can make your home still more attractive by having a billiard table in it. Billiards is an innocent pastime as well as a healthy one. It develops the muscles and makes the body lithe and active. Most men enjoy the game, and it is growing in favor among the children and fair sex.
The construction and finish of this table is precisely the same as that of the Home Circle Billiard Table, described elsewhere, the only difference being that it is furnished with the pockets, as shown by the illustration, and is designed for the game of Pyramid Pool, the great English home pastime.
The outfit for the pool table consists of the following:
One half dozen fancy butt billiard cues (parlor size).
One set (12) two inch patent solid color pool balls, 11 red and one white.
One triangle
One leather bottle
One set shake balls
One small ball rack
Miscellaneous sundries, such as extra chalk, tips, etc.
The outfit for a combination billiard and pool table consists of all of the items originally furnished for a pool table, also a set of carom plus or pocket stops for closing the openings in the cushions, thus converting a pool table to billiard, and in addition the outfit ordinarily furnished with a billiard table, including four ivory billiard balls, markers, etc.
The 3 x 6 size of table is ordinarily furnished only with four pockets, whereas the 3 1/2 x 7 size can be furnished either with four pockets or six pockets at the same price as may be preferred.
