Economy
From the 1894 Brunswick-Balke-Collender Co. catalog:
This table supplies a long-felt want, i.e. a strictly first-class table at moderate cost. It is made only in one size and furnished in oak, either natural or Flemish finish. The outfit furnished with this table is of the same superior quality as that furnished with higher priced tables. In the Economy, the manufacturers succeeded in producing a billiard table which is within the reach of persons of the most moderate means. While the design is characterized by simplicity----nevertheless is decidedly attractive. Like all tables manufactured by our Company, only the best seasoned wood is used in its construction and the same skillful workthat has made our more expensive tables so famous is everywhere apparent. It has all the latest improvements and patents owned by our Company and is excellent in every respect.
Furnished either as a carom or pool table or both combined. All combination tables have our patent adjustable carrom plugs, with iron fastenings.
All tables are fitted with Vermont slate bed from our own quarries, imported Simonis cloth, and the incomparable Monarch cushions.
The legs, besides being joined with wooden dowels, are fastened with a large iron bolt passing through the entire length of the leg to the top of the head block, thus insuring positive solidity.
