Cabinet No. 2
From the Brunswick-Balke-Collender Co. catalog of 1894, page 9:
This style of table is specially adapted for private residences.
Patent applied for.
This style is similar in the general details of its arrangement to Cabinet No. 1 and differs only in design. Rich metal scrollwork is introduced on the sides and at the ends of the rail. The entire conception is one of superior excellence and merit. To those desiring a table, where the simple outline of beauty is the attraction, the Cabinet No. 2 will be particularly suitable. It is finished in the best style and is usually manufactured in oak, but can be made of any variety of wood desired.
The shape of the body of this table is what is termed Ogee, being a combination of convex and concave in design. The ends are provided with two carved brackets on the columns inclosing the doors and drawers. The metal ornamentation can be furnished in any style of finish desired.
All the latest improvements owned exclusively by our company are introduced in the table. Where the occasion demands, these Cabinet tables can be readily converted into large library or reception hall tables, for which purpose we can supply an affordable solid wood top, either in one-piece or in sections. Combining the billiard and library table into one is a feature that will at once commend itself to the ladies.
Furnished either as a carrom or pool table or both combined. All combination tables have our patent adjustable carrom plugs, with iron fastenings.
All tables are fitted with Vermont slate bed from our own quarries, imported Simonis cloth, and the incomparable Monarch cushions. |
