FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
BRUNSWICK’S METRO GENERATES BUZZ IN HOLLAND AT THE 2004 WORLD POOL MASTERS
BRISTOL, Wis. (Oct. 4, 2004) The Metro, Brunswick Billiards’ newest and hottest table, most recently served as the official table of the pool world’s premier invitational event --- the World Pool Masters on Sept. 4-5 at the Hotel Zuiderduin in Egmond Aan Zee, Holland.
The Metro has gained significant global momentum in recent weeks, having served also as the official table for two events held in July: the 2004 World Pool Championship in Taipei, Taiwan, as well as the 1st Annual Brunswick Korea International Championships in Incheon, Korea.
“We are thrilled with the enormous response we’ve been receiving from all over the world about the Metro for its accurate play and high-quality performance,” said John Stransky, president of Brunswick Billiards. “We are pleased that so many champions are experiencing the Metro firsthand during such important times in their professional lives.”
The Metro offers a unique contemporary design with patented super-wide, elliptical-shaped rails accented with brushed aluminum castings. Table features that the serious player will appreciate include leg levelers, SuperSpeed® rubber, and Brunswick-certified slate. In addition, the table has the same deep pockets that are used on the legendary Gold Crown IV. The robust base-frame makes it play as well as it looks. The Metro is available in three colors black, blue, and maple, and is available in 8 foot and 9 foot sizes.
“I was very impressed by the Metro when I played on it at the World Pool Championship in Taiwan,” said Rodney Morris, who is currently ranked the No. 4 men’s player in the United States. “I grew up playing on Brunswick’s Gold Crown and always viewed that as being the best, but after experiencing the Metro, this may be my new favorite. The rails, and everything about it, really played true.”
Matchroom Sport, promoters of the World Pool Championship, announced that Fox Sports Net, America’s widest-reaching sports network, will be broadcasting four, one-hour highlight programs of the 2004Championship throughout October. With 128 players from over 40 countries competing for pool’s most coveted title, Fox’s broadcast represents the most extensive coverage yet in the United States. The Championship gets aired at 6 p.m. Sunday evenings throughout October. Program one goes out on Sunday, Oct. 10, and action continues on Oct. 17 and Oct. 24, culminating in the closing stages on Oct. 31.
